Bayway offering free transportation for residents seeking tax filing assistance

Bayway is helping Bay County residents access free tax preparation services during tax season. Every Wednesday from March 18 through April 8, Bayway will provide free rides between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to the A.D. Harris Learning Village, where residents can receive tax filing support through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program with United Way Northwest Florida.

“Bayway is committed to strengthening the local community by connecting residents to vital resources,” said Lamar Hobbs, Transit Programs Administrator of Bayway. “By offering these free rides, we hope to make a meaningful impact during tax season, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to file their taxes with ease.”

The VITA program provides free tax preparation assistance to individuals and families earning $70,000 or less annually. Residents seeking assistance should bring all relevant tax documents, a valid ID, Social Security card, and any documentation needed for dependents. The A.D. Harris Learning Village is located at 819 E. 11th Street in Panama City, Florida.

“Access should never be a barrier to financial stability,” said Gina Littleton of United Way of Northwest Florida. “Through our VITA program, United Way helps individuals and families keep more of what they earn. We are grateful for our partnership with Bayway to offer free transportation. Partnerships like this remove barriers and make sure more people can access trusted, no-cost tax preparation services.”
